Yisrael Hawkins, our favorite doomsday prophet, hasn't made any noticeable updates to his website since his proclaimed day of reckoning has come and gone. Aside from his countdown clock at the top of the page now reading "-1 days until the start of nuclear war". I think that's cute.

I wonder how this catastrophic end of life as we know it will affect my first day of classes? Will it be treated like a Snow Day? I can see the University website now:"Due to apocalyptic conditions, the university will be closed today"

Who is Yisrayl Hawkins anyways?

Yisrayl (Israel) Hawkins (born Buffalo Bill Hawkins) is the founder of the House of Yahweh religious group in Abilene, Texas. He claims to be descended from Jewish immigrants who fled Nazi persecution in Europe.
Who cares? Yisrael is the supposed firestarter if this whole 9/12/06 'Pockyclipse.
