This is a wonderful analysis of Metroid Prime's story, gameplay, and structure by Amanda Phillips. It looks to be a 300 level English course in electronic literature assignment. The Material that Amanda Phillips presents is extensive and insightful. Not much formal analysis exists about video games, and Metroid in particular has always been quite shrouded until very recent years.
